Hi Folks. I’ve been searching the forums to find out what people think of Lee Valley router bits. I’m having trouble finding good bits in my local stores, and thought I’d like to try their bits out.
Anyone have any experience with these? Lee Valley generally has excellent quality products, so I’m willling to try them just based on past experience with other things I’ve purchased from them.
Harry.

Hello Harry,
I use Lee Valley router bits all the time, and I enjoy their quality. I can not comment on thier longevity as I have only had them about 8 months.
I would recommend to you, that you decide which bits you will use for how long and often. That way you may be able to buy router bit kits, either online or via catalog from some of the higher quality companies at the same prices. You'd be surprised.
I'm sure you are aware of carbide tipped versus steel...
Good Luck

I've been using LV bits for four years now. Not for high production but mainly because I can't find profiles I need elsewhere. Haven't had any problems with any of their bits. Well, except for recently, LV let me down & I had to get a Whiteside to get the profile I needed.

Harry- Just thought I'd tell you that I've been using them for a couple years now and would say they're about as good as a router bit can get. I just got that 15 degree raised panel bit that Becksvoort designed and it is great for a change, instead of the traditional raised panel profiles. They get boring, as does working with the same wood over and over. I also got the cove moulding bit. Just a tip w/ the cove bit, you're gonna need to make a zero clearance fence to get the best results. I would'nt recommend these crown bits for long runs of moulding unless you've got a power feeder. But they're great for short runs piece by piece. Anyway, good luck, have fun.
