My wife bought me the Lee Valley tail vise. This is the standard tail vise – pic included. I was surprised to find no install instructions in the box. I looked on their website and can’t find them there either.
Does anyone have install instructions, advice, link to help on how to do this? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John

My post, which I wrote while you were posting yours, includes a link to the article, with an UPDATED PDF. Not sure the difference, but there ya go.
Surprise!
I made a tail vise jaw and installed it with Lie-Nielsen hardware a few years ago. It's a more simplified build than is required for the traditional vise like you have, but even so it was one of the more complex woodworking projects I've tackled. It took me a solid week to make the jaw out of hard maple, install it, and fine tune the operation. Even so, it was well worth the trouble. The tail vise is THE bench feature I could not do without. I use it constantly.
The L-N appears to be discontinued, which is too bad because they included world class documentation with it.
The Lee Valley hardware appears identical to the Woodriver version used by Chris Gochnour in his bench build. Some good details here:

Woodriver vise:

That page has a link to a PDF instruction sheet.
Enjoy the process!
moosie57, about two months ago I gave Lie Nielsen a call as a tool I wanted appeared to be discontinued. It wasn't. Given Covid-19 has impacted their ability to manufacture (like much of the country) and since much of the USA is now stuck at home, their orders have increased. As such, they are focusing on more of the core tools that are in high demand. They have removed items they aren't making from their catalog in some cases. In other cases, they are showing items they aren't making now out of stock.
I point this out as it may not be discontinued per se. Just not a focus right now during Covid-19.
PS I have a LN tail vise and use it all the time. I really like tail vises. I suspect if I didn't have one I would have found a work around. I am glad I do have one though.
