Well the Legacy arrived yesterday. The learning curve is not as steep as I thought but it’s no picnic either. Seems to be plenty well enough made for one concientious user but I darn sure would not put it in a shop with your average hired help. My bit’s won’t be here from Magnate till Friday most likely but I did’nt let that stop me, I experimented with bit’s I had on hand and I must say I’m pleased with the machine. My first experiment was a spiral twist about 2 foot long and it turned out very well. Any other Legacy folks out there? I took the twist over to the cabinet shop I do some work for and they thought of a few ways to incorporate it with their products right off the bat.

I'll have one when the next Woodshow comes into town (October). What bits did you order?
Todd
They have a couple of sets for the Legacy, I ordered the set they call complete.

For some reason the pics are not posting, I'm not sure why since I've uploaded before and had no problems. I'll keep trying.

I ordered a 900 at the end of April and it is all mostly here... I was actually missing a few pieces, but more importantly the PC router was back ordered for quite a while. It's a little tricky to use the machine without a router :-)
According to UPS, it should arrive tomorrow. So hopefully after finishing the setup, I'll be able to play a bit on Saturday... In the meantime I've been watching the videos and it seems straighforward enough....
D,
I have a Trend routerlathe that makes twists and many other profiles on a column. Is that what your Legacy is?
The machine I have is OK but has too much slop (which you can work around). It has a couple of other bad design aspects but your version may be a better one.
Get them pics posted please and perhaps we can compare notes.

Well Don,
I guess I found you! Amazing, since I'm so far gone on pills that I can hardly keep my eyes open. Needless to say, I'm not doing any woodworking for awhile! I got my parents cabinets done, with the exception of the doors. I'm looking forward to doing more in the fall. See ya soon,

How did the surgery go? Are you one hand typing or can you use the arm? Good to hear from you, keep in touch.

Surgery went fine. Pain blocker was great - couldn't even feel half of my face. However, made it really hard to breathe when laying down as chest muscles not working right. When the pain blocker wore off, it was miserable. Like, on fire w/ no hose to put it out. Two dilauded didn't help. I can't move my arm out from my body at all. I'm killing time watching tv and falling asleep. Standing up, sitting on the toilet, with a mouth full of water, etc. I find myself in the middle of a conversation w/ my wife, then hearing myself snore! Weird. I should be off the meds in a few days.

Sleep is probably the best thing, heals without hurting. Hope you have someone there all the time to keep an eye on you, don't want to read about local man who drowned while falling asleep with mouthful of water in the morning paper!
