Over the years I have seen on occasion sets of steel letter/number stamps. Of course, as is usually the case, now that I want to get some I can’t find a source.
Whenever I have a complex build, it never fails that my pencil marks get lost and parts end up in the wrong place, so it’s time to start marking parts in a way that ensures they end up in the right place.
Any suggestions on sources are most appreciated.

As an alternate solution - I've taken to marking the ENDS of structure pieces with a Red felt marking pen. Sometimes with a "R" or "L", or "RF", etc., sometimes with hash marks.

I have stamped machines and metal parts for years with numbers and/or punch marks. They call 'em witness marks.
I never considered it for wood. Thank you for the idea !
