I’ve read here that a light under the TS top by the blade helps somehow. How does this help? I don’t think I need it for changing blades.

To start fires when the saw dust collects on the bulb.
Realy!
It would seem so.
You've heard, I'm sure, that putting a green magic-marker line around the edge of a CD makes it sound better. Well, the same physical principle is being used here: the light -- which must be a green light -- makes the saw blade track straighter.
That's right up there with that new material they're beginning to develop for table saw blades. Unobtainium. Really rare and expensive.

You can now order those unobtainium blades on the web. I just got my Forrest Unobtainium Circular Kinetic Observable Fine Finish blade delieverd by UPS on Monday. I put that thing (the F***OFF blade) in the tablesaw, ripped a piece of hard maple and all I can say is - this is the ultimate saw blade.
"If you're not using one of these, you're not doing it right!"
Just kidding - felt like joking around this a.m.

I'm sitting here ready to order. But, I need your in-put. Did you get the laser-guided model or the standard gyro-scope guidance system.
Got Forrest on the phone on hold an credit card in hand waiting for your reply. UPS Next Day Air is not soon enough. Will pay them to put it in a Mexican taxu (taxi) an deliver to my door ASAP. Money means nothing when precision is at stake.
ha..ha.. he..he...

.......And just like that, a whole new marketing campaign was born!

Neither, Sarge - I got the one with the integrated satellite receiver that adjusts molecular mass at the atomic level for straighter tracking (I think its called the BIG MOMMA system (Bearing Integrated Geosynchronous Momentum-Oriented Molecular Mass Adjustment) system. They say it will work even better once the military tracks down Saddam Hussein and can release a few more satellites over to the civilian side.
Sorry about the sophmoric humor this morning - I guess I had a few extra slugs of coffee and was p.o.'ed I had to go mow the grass today.
By the way the router table is done - well not all of the drawers - but it is done enough to be workable.
Have a good day, Ed
Be careful, John Poindexter may be snooping around for ideas.
Ouch!
You guys crack me up! ;-)
Helps to find he arbor wrench when you drop it changing the blade.
Where did you hear this?

The wrench I can find. It's the damn arbor nut that gets lost.
lol... Dropped mine years and years ago .. Still haven't seen it. Absolutely no idea where it went.
I think maybe they were talking about a scroll saw- It helps when changing a blade on complicated frilly doodads .
