I need an answer in the next couple days, thank you for your help!!
I know this subject is taboo since Koa is a beautiful wood as is, but I still need help with lightening it and google is failing me. I bought a Koa ceiling fan knowing it would probably be too dark/warm in color for our house. We have a ton of wood and plants in our house (has an indoor/outdoor coastal feel) but the woods we have, although different from one another, go together because they’re gray/cooler toned with hints of warmth. The dark koa wood fan clashes. I know green tint will help cancel out the warmth (I have Minwax driftwood) but still need it lightened, too. i’ve already tried Zinsser A/B bleach multiple times, which seems to have lightened the stain a tad bit. I also sanded it down a little after the fact but it’s still pretty dark. What can I do now? I’d like the finish to be even/matte. TIA!

I think you are nuts for trying to make that beautiful koa look like that other stuff. But oxalic acid is the best wood bleach you could use.
Agreed. Darken the rest of your house ASAP.
