So on a whim, I bought a chainsaw mill a year ago never having worked any kind of wood other than building a dog house and the such. I built a rail yesterday for the mill. Today I set everything up to make the first cut with my mill. Having to short of a bar, I had to remove the mill and free hand the rest of the cut. I have one spot with a trough, but I know I can work that out in process I have many questions, having only had one cut, but the main one is I have a pretty good dogleg in the trunk, and the project is a live edge mantel for my girlfriend. How can I straighten the butt end so it is not so aggressive for the ends of the piece? I was thinking I could buck the smaller side to change the angle for a better layout. Please teach me sensei’s
