A friend in work told me about a local hardwood seller in or near Stockton in the grand state of confusion. She buys local hardwood for turning and scrolling there.
She’s not in town for the near term and I can’t remember the name of the hardwood guy. He’s got lots of locall cut walnut etc. Does this ring a bell with anyone?

Stockton in what state?
"Grand State of Confusion" would have to be California!

You've lived here, have you?Sorry to be obtuse. Just being funny. I've heard that this gentleman sells a lot of local wood including orchard woods - in Central California there's lots of almond, walnut (english and black), olive, madrone, black oak, liveoak, valley oak, tanoak, fruitwoods, manzanita and other chaparal burls, cottonwood, and some other rarities. Now you've done it! I'm drooling and I haven't gone to sleep yet!
No, never lived there. I did date a girl once in 1960 when visiting in Stockton. Found out that what they say about 'Valley Girls' was certainly true! At least back then. :o)
I have a son that lives in Tracy CA and works at Lawrence Livermore Labs. After several recent visits to see them, I have nick-named the area "Cow Fart Valley". If you ever go there, you'll understand why!
