cruising thru breaktime a question came to mind- i recently bought a locking miter shaper cutter to build some posts. i fought set up for an eternity and never got it right- any tips on set up other than purchasing set up blocks (which they didn’t have) is it just me or has anyone else fought one of these.

It's not just you! One fellow on another site suggested that if you ever get it setup...then weld everything!

The lock mitre is a bear to setup, so you had better have a whole bunch to do when you use it. I've used mine maybe 5 times in ten years, but when I needed it, it was the only thing that would do and was worth the set up time.
Each setup get to be a bit easier.
Try this on the woodshopdemos site. It is a clear and sensible way to do it.
