Describe "locking straight edge" a bit more. The only thing that comes to mind is a straight edge that clamps to wood to provide guidance for a circular saw or router. There are lots of different models available, with the pinnacle being Festool, which offers a complete system including the saw or router. Big bucks, but high quality.
Lee Valley has them in their cat.- both alumnum and steel. Of course if money is no object, then but a Starret.
Thanks guys
I found a catalog that had Boomer brand that looks like what he has already in 48"
I guess it is a locking saw guide or fence.

I have the True Grip Clamp and Guide. They were the first and are still the best. This is the brand that Norm uses on New Yankie Workshop.
If the catalog is MLCS (http://www.mlcswoodworking.com) they're a great place to order from. I got pretty much the same thing from rocker, but a different brand, and I love it.
That is the catalog that I ordered from.
Thanks
