I just bought Lonnie Bird’s new book, ‘Period Furniture Details’ and am somewhat disappointed.  The book largely contains the same material as is found in his ‘Shaping Wood’.  There is some additional material included but in my opinion not enough to justify buying the book if you already have ‘Shaping Wood’.  Anyone who has ‘Shaping Wood’ and who is considering buying the latest offering may want to  take a close look first to see if the relatively limited amount of new material is worth the price.
