Looking at my first Unisaw — $930 a fair price?
Not an uncommon question on woodworking forums…hoping to get some some input on today’s market value (central Texas) for what looks to be a clean 1977 Unisaw. Originally posted at $1,000 but the seller will go down to $930 — not a big drop, but better than nothing. New v-belts were installed and the trunnions lubricated a few weeks ago. Photos attached.
Many thanks in advance for thoughts/recommendations.
Cheers!

Nothing wrong with that. Freakishly clean actually! Probably selling it for about what it cost new in 77, but then a saw today of that quality is $3k plus and will probably have visible machine swirls on the top. Those older Rockwell machines arrived with a mirror finish on the top. I had a saw like that back then, maybe a 1970 version and it cost a whopping $800! Some people might dis on the fence but that's what it had and it worked just fine! I could be a right tilt saw. That worked too. Until you knew better that was state of the art! Eventually Rockwell/ Delta offered both a right and a left blade tilt but the early ones were all right tilt. I'm not sure what year that started ,around that era though. It looks like a good buy. I see those for $500 but not squeaky clean like that.
I sold mine for $900 and it wasn’t near that nice.
930 $ is a good price, it’s worth $1000 with all 3 belts :)
I would be careful.
It is certainly possible depending on how much it has been used that the bearings need to be replaced on that vintage Unisaw. If it was a later model with the unifence and a motor cover with the dust collection it might be worth the price.
