Hello,
First message I have posted. I’m looking for a good 8″ jointer. I’m looking at the Grizzly and Bridgewood.
The Grizzly is $700, has a magnetic switch, 3 knives.
The BW is $900, no magnetic switch, 4 knives, USA Baldor motor.
Any advice? Thanks. Dario

Dario,
I just purchased the Bridgewood and so far so good. I would rather have the General Canadian 8" but at $1800 compared to the Bridgewoods $900 the choice was easy. I've bought a few tools from Wilkie including Generals and the company is great when it comes to service. The Grizzly I never considered. The Bridgewood does have the Baldor motor which is U.S. The Grizzly is 100% Taiwanese.
Good Luck with whichever you choose,

You might take a look at the Sunhill. I think I am going to buy one.
4 knife cutter-head
2 hp motor
72" long table
hand-wheels
All for $739
It's been gettin' good reviews.
Nicobie,
I think you meant this for Dario. Anyway, I just received the Sunhill catalogue in the mail yesterday. Also, you may want to take a look at the North State. It seams to have everything the Sunhill has and it sells for $795. It can be purchased from LeNeave Machinery in Charlotte, NC 1-800 442-2302. The guy there told me the North State is a replica of the older Delta DJ-20. It also has a magnetic switch.

Hi
I have a grizzly an it's ok too
Very sturdy. If I was going to buy a top line I would look toward powermatic and delta.
