The jewery store where I bought my wife a lovely crystal eagle for our 50th wedding anniversary has a display case with some really neat lights.
There is a strip running vertically in each corner with holes about 1/8 in diameter every 2 inches or so. They have tiny LED spot lights that plug into these holes — each one is a little cylinder about 5/16 diameter and about 1/2 inch long. They have lenses to focus the light and swivel bases which allows them to be pointed at the individual objects. Basically, it’s a micro-track lighting setup.
I haven’t found anything in any catalogs that even remotely resembles this lighting. Does anybody know of a source?

You might try getting some Tape Lights.
I recently finished a set of bookcases where I installed a low voltage
(24 volt) lighting system. I order the the lights spaced at 3" but this vendor can send them in 2,3 or 4 inch spacing.

Thanks. I'll keep that in mind for an option.

I haven't seen that, but you might take a look at rope lighting. Home Depot sells kits of fixed length rope lights which may work for you and there are tons of vendors online that sell spools of it and the necessary connector hardware.
It doesn't show up, but I used it in this wine cabinet. It runs just behind the faceframe on both sides and across the top. It gives the wine bottles a soft glow when all the other lights are off.
Rope lights may do the trick. If I can't find the little spot lights, rope is an option.
Thanks.

The biggest difference I can see would be the lack of spot lighting things in your cabinet. The rope lighting will give more of a uniform glow.
