Hello, <!—-><!—-> <!—->
I am looking for a good source of furniture building plans. I have come across a lot of simple plans to build book shelves and simple tables and things like this which is fine if this is what you’re looking for, but I am looking for something a little more challenging like cabinets with curved doors and that sort of thing. Specifically I want to build a small half moon cabinet for a hallway (not sure what you call these).<!—-><!—->
Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.<!—-> <!—->

Just for kicks, try googling "how to make curved doors." I found at least 4 references that were on point. Much of the enjoyment of woodworking is not only building piece but knowing that you created every aspect of the project. So, read about radiused doors and design something that is just right for your space.
Good luck-
Doug
Thanks for the info Doug. I would still like to have a full set of drawings for this half round cabinet. I don't want to spend a lot of time designing and drawing this.
Does anyone know a place where they sell furniture plans? Thanks for your help
C,
Do you mean a demilune table? here is one link to an FWW article:
http://www.taunton.com/finewoodworking/ProjectsAndDesign/ProjectsAndDesignPDF.aspx?id=2146
There's also this plan:
http://store.taunton.com/onlinestore/item/federal-card-table-project-plan-011062.html
Lastly, try the FWW gallery setion, which seems to have quite a few demilunes in it. The makers may be able to supply you with a plan, should one of their tables take your fancy.

Thank you for sending me the links. I had a look but didn't find what I'm looking for. The cabinet I was thinking about has curved doors and drawers. I just found out it's actually called a French commode. Any ideas where I could get plans for this?
Thanks again for your help.

C,The only thing I can find on the FWW site is this:http://www.taunton.com/finewoodworking/Gallery/GalleryImage.aspx?id=4866A search on "commode" doesn't give much else. There are a number of articles about making curved components (search the PROJECTS tab on "curved") which may at least help in understanding the constructional techniques you might need. But I can't find any plans.Lataxe
I recommend that you get a copy of James Krenov's books. IMO he is the king of designing cabinets with curved doors. The titles are:
A Cabinetmaker's Notebook
The Fine Art of Cabinetmaking
The Impractical Cabinetmaker
I will check these books out.
Thanks very much Frank.
Try looking for books on furniture plans. Not everything is on the web.
