     Hi Felix ,

               I'm just grasping at this for you but ,,,

                 The pin that goes into a wooden gate post and attaches to the gate is a similar looking piece of hardware without the " S " hook .

         The gate pin is mounted horizontally but in this case you could place it vertically into the frame .You may need to drill a few holes in the pin to through bolt or screw to the wood frame .

       Otherwise a eye bolt the correct size will also work , maybe you could paint it Brass if need be .

   You want bronze hardware, not brass, I think.  A google for Bronze Eyebolts reveals some possiblities.  Here is one:

   Unfortunately, I've had to become capable of finding marine hardware.  Last thing I had to find was a cast aluminum gooseneck.
