Hi,
I’m building a computer stand and my client would like a metal grill (antique brass or something) as a panel in the door to allow ventilation. It would obviously need to be something I could cut to size. Any ideas where to look? I’ve tried googling but I keep finding solid panels (like for a tin ceiling).
Thanks in advance,
Shawn

Try Harrington & King Perforating Company 1-800-621-3869. ( Chicago ). They sent me a catalog when I built some radiator covers. They offer lots of patterns, and materials, brass, aluminum, steel, etc. website - http://www.hkperf.com

Thanks - exactly what I was looking for. Now just hope they can get materials up to Canada quickly.Regards,Shawn
Rockler (http://www.rockler.com) also sells this stuff. You give them the dimensions, and they cut it.
Shawn,
I recently completed a radiator cover for my sons room, which turned out really nice. When it came time to fill in the frame with the traditional metal screen, I just couldn't do it. It just seemed cheap to me.
So I came up with the idea of using the cloth tape you see on shaker chairs. I think I found it in the "Yankee Workshop" catalogue. It comes in a nice variety of colors and was very easy to use. You could set the spacing as tight or loose as you want and could even weave different't patterns. Gave the piece a very custom made appearance
P.S. I'm guessing this is not an original idea, but nobody told me about it.
