Greetings
I am very new to woodworking and want to locate several styles of mechanisms to make a pepper mill. Any suggestions on where to look? Good catalogs or magazines?
Thanks so much

Wow! They sure are expensive up there in the north country.
Are you looking a Canadian or US funds?Scott C. Frankland

I'm looking at US$. Woodturners Catalog shows lower prices than LV in US$ by a couple of dollars per mill. Woodcraft shows different lengths, but look to be less also. Woodturners lists the 10-inch mill at $11.50; Woodcraft shows the 10-inch at $12.99. There is a difference in quality and I would recommend checking them out before buying in any quantity. The last ones I got were from Woodtuners. I paid $11.99 for a six-inch one at Woodcraft and thought it was high, but it was good quality. The LV price for an eight-inch mill is $12.95US, from Woodturners it's $10.50.
I don't look at many US sites as the shipping usally drives the price up. Either that or they don't ship international.Scott C. Frankland

Of course you're right about the shipping. I usually buy in quantity which makes quite a difference.
In addition to Woodcraft and Lee Valley, I just got a catalog from Penn State Industries, with lots of lathe projects. There was a peppermill or two there also.
