I am interested in learning about refinishing furniture (1850’s-1940’s vintage) and am looking for a summer workshop. I like the sylibus of the Dakota County Technical College course, but am hoping to find a similar class closer to home (northern California). Any ideas?

I attended a one-day seminar with Mitch Kohanek instructing. I believe he is in charge at Dakota County Tech. It was well worth the time spent, and if I had the time I would go and take their course. There are several books on the subject, like Flexner's "Understanding Wood Finishing", and experience will teach you much.
