Hi all,
I am re-entering my cabinet making shop days. Goodbye cruel corporate world, hello starving furnituremaker.
I have all equipment, for example: 12″ Tersa jointer, PM66, 37″ Performax, fully equiped Multi-Router, last count about 200 clamps, 40 of which are K-body, etc…
Looking to share space, no partnerships. Never saw one that worked. Just a friendship.
May contact me at :[email protected]
Thanks

I can't help you with the space, but congratulations! You say re-entering your cabinet making days, and it sounds as if you have the required tools. Were you in the business before? BTW, welcome to Knots!
Hi Sawdustmaker,
Yes I was in business for 12 years and got an offer to enter the tooling business (woodworking tooling). Certainly it is nice to have a paycheck handed to you on a silver platter every 2 weeks, but the corporate crap is enough to make one shiver.
I owned a small 2 man shop, building custom cabinets and furniture, I am one of those perfectionists you read about every month in FWW. Because of this it is quite difficult to make decent profit if any at all.
But I recently have come to learn that this is the true trade off, no answering to anyone except my customers.
As far as tools, I have much more than I listed above, almost every Lie-Nielson tool made, scores of carving tools, electric tools, probably 2 or more of every router with something like 300 bits. Currently eyeing a Martin shaper.
So it will be interesting to see what happens here in the next few months.
Thanks for replying.

Nothing...? :(
I don't live near you but ...
How much space do you want and what do you expect to pay?
I built my own shop because the cost of building was cheaper than renting (even from a friend). I also could not find a small enough space, 1500sqft.
Hi George,
I have nowhere to build, but there are a few areas to rent. I was hoping to share rent with someone. 1500 sf runs about $1700 a month right near the city. It's an area called Southend and that is where I would like to be.
I wouldn't mind paying about $600-800. Well let me rephrase that, yes I do mind paying that in rent and ultimately building my own shop is the smartest move, but seldom does zoning allow this unless I were to live in the sticks.
Thanks for your reply,
CP
