I have a very old Sears tabletop jigsaw, and it has served me very well over the years that I’ve had it. Recently I broke the last blade I had for the saw, and I’ve had some trouble finding new ones. Table top jigsaws (at least as far as I can tell) don’t really exist anymore, since scroll saws have become much more powerful, but my jigsaw is just too powerful for scroll saw blades. There’s no speed adjustment on it, and the strain that the motor and plunger put on the blade is enough that it usually breaks after just a few cuts. I can’t mount modern jigsaw blades either, because they were only designed to be secured from one end and they aren’t long enough to mount on both ends. If anyone knows where I can find double-sided (but not double edged) blades that are fairly robust and strong, please let me know. I’d love to get my saw going again as soon as possible.
