I’m building Dining Table with M&T joints using loose tennons. Considered using same wood for loose tennons as the table material ( Cherry). Could one use baltic birch ply for tennons instead?

Last time I looked at BBP, it was in metric units. So depending on what you are cutting your mortises with, a few thousandths of an inch either way is the difference between a sloppy joint, a nice good fitting joint, and one that has to pounded together.
