Lots of Great Tools to Rehome, Not Sure What to Do – Jointer, Band Saw, Spindle Moulder
Hi All,
I hope this forum is the right place to post this, but I need help. My dad was a professional woodworker for most of his life, even working at this very magazine for years! He passed away about a year ago leaving my family and I with lots of tools and absolutely zero knowledge of what to do with them. Basically, we’ve decided to keep the smaller things like hand tools, but we cannot justify keeping a 13″ Italian long bed jointer in our home. We’ve tried talking to an auction company about this but it seems hard to get anything concrete from them. Additionally, I would really like these tools to go to a place where they are appreciated and used. Where can I go to find people who may be interested? If anyone in the forum needs more info on the stuff that needs to go I’ve left some specifics attached. Leads on where to post this stuff/any interested parties please feel free to reply to this post, and I should be notified by email when you do.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide,
Willem

Where are you located?
Litchfield County, CT
Well you are not going to ship a 13" jointer. You may be able to post here and at other sites and be sure to mention your location as most of the items will need to be picked up. There is also craigs list, offer up etc.
When I left Victoria British Columbia for Philadelphia I donated a 24 inch joiner and 36 inch bandsaw ,both of which I rescued and rebuilt, to a student shipbuilding program on the island. In Ct you have a number of youth boat building schools that would benefit from a gift. You have a great Seaport Museum also
Also, try posting the list, names ,and sizes of the
machinery you wish to sell and other members might wish to buy or suggest an appropriate price. Also posting on Craigs list locally should create interest
Thanks all for the advice! I'm going to see if there are any local programs that we could donate this stuff too, and perhaps try Craigslist if that doesn't work out. Appreciate the help!
