Lubrication -table saw crank height / angle adjustments
I am assembling a new contractors saw [that has been in storage in its original shipping box for about two years – if that is relevant]. Any recomendations for a lubricant that will make the hand crank adjustments turn smoothly but not induce a tendency to slip??

I like "White Lightning"
I like "White Lightning" paraffin-based lube for bicycle chains. Sawdust doesn't seem to stick to it as much as it does with oil or silicone spray.
Most table saw guru's recommend a paste wax like Johnson Paste wax. Apply it with an old tooth brush. Rotate the crank as you apply the wax. The solvents in paste wax will clean out the teeth as you work the wax onto the teeth.
Paste wax will not attract or hold dust like many petroleum based lubricants. Paste wax is an excellent low speed, low pressure lubricant.
OnLineIndustries...the manufacturer of PALS (Precision alignment System for a contractor saw) sent me a video showing how to install greae fittings on a contractor saw. it's a little bit of work, but the blade height adjustment and blade tilt wheels can be turned with 1 finger.
