I was fortunate enough to be win this.
It’s a Rockwell/Delta lathe Model number 46-525 made sometime between 1962 to 1968. It came with all you see and was maintained really well. I’ve used it occasionally in the shop.
The only issue for me is it is 3 phase 440VAC. I’ll be able to replace the motor with single phase 220VAC.
Hope your week was as good as mine.

Sick!!, - - I'd be 'gloatin', too. That sucker's nice as hell. How'd you win it?
My company was consolidating. There wasn't enough room in the other shop for two lathes. Rather than putting equipment into storage or selling it to a salvager. They decided to allow us to put our names in for whatever equipment was being removed.
They drew names out of a hat and I was the lucky owner of the lathe. It was nice of them to do this.
Hi, I'm Len and I'm a Toolaholic...
Damn nice of 'em, - - congratulations and good luck with it!
Len, It probably only has a 3/4 HP motor which is fine if all you want to do is spindle turning, but if you are going to replace the motor, and IF you are gong to do any bowl or face plate turning, put the largest motor that you can mount on it.
I put a 3 HP on one a little larger model than that. It was good to about 10" dia... After that it started to load the motor down some. Over 14 it was bad under powered.
The motor plate is on the back side where I can't a good look at it. I haven't had the time to pull it out yet. What I could read with a mirror is (I think) a 3 hp motor. My intention is to replace it with the same only in single phase.
I have some bowl turning accessories from a friend.

Congratulations !!
I own the same lathe, of course I didnt win mine (purchased at a second hand shop) and is not as pristine as yours. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine. I changed mine to a single phase motor also, as I recall , it was an easy swap.

PS. Does anyone know if there was any kind of bed extension ever made or that will fit this model?
Thanks. I'm sure I will. I was introduced to turning on a Dremel lathe when I was ten. I still have it and use it. I'm looking foward to getting this running along with my 1936 Delta 14" bandsaw.
I've looked over all the old Rockwell/Delta catalogs at old woodworking machines. I didn't see any bed extensions made by them. I've extended beds before on other lathes. Email me and I'll give you the details if your interested.

Happy Day! What a great addition to your shop. Good luck with the conversion, and hope to see a gallery item or two before the end of the year!

End of the year! Yipe!
Susans already got a number of projects I suppose to finish before the end of the summer.
So how viable is cloning? Hi, I'm Len and I'm a Toolaholic...
Pulled the motor out last night. It's rated at 3 phase/ 480V / 1.2 A. It's only a 3/4 HP 1725 RPM motor. Not sure why we needed 480V in the shop.View Image
Anyone see anything wrong with replacing it with single phase 110/220 VAC, 1 HP, 1750 RPM motor?
Sounds fine to me, Len. I've got a Delta Standard (4-speed) that's about the same vintage -- it came with a 3/4 hp 120/220 volt motor that's worked fine so far.Great luck there.Ta,Leon Jester
