I’ve purchased birch lumber core plywood in the past and it is filled with what I believe to be basswood. Does anyone know if cherry or walnut lumber core is filled with the same wood as the veneer or is the fill of an entirely diferent species such as basswood. Thanks for any help on the subject, I’ve never had the need for such a material until now and could use the info before heading off to the mill.

The basswood that's sold out of here as veneer grade all goes to filler for plywood.
