Hello,
I am also a hobbiest in Palm Beach County, Lake Worth but I have not been able to find any lumber suppliers. I know they have to be out there, but for my last project I picked up some nice cherry from Miami while I was down visiting some family. Let me know if you find anything.

You might try General Hardwoods in Ft. Lauderdale. They have dimensional lumber and normally carry ash, cherry, mahogany, teak, walnut, sapele and a bunch of other hardwoods. I know that the Woodcraft stores carry a small selection of hardwoods as well. Try looking under "lumberyards" in the phone book. You can also go to http://www.woodfinder.com, but that is far from a complete listing. There are lots of sources of wood on line, but you don't get to see the lumber before you buy.
