I am looking for some items that my local lumber yard can’t find and have no desire to try and find.
Is there anyone here in Washington State that has a good customer friendly supplier that you would reccomend? Travel is not an issue if they can find what I need. I would love to find someplace that has a massive yard and actually have some things in stock.
My local yard was out of 3/4″ birch plywood earlier this week. Today they were out of 1/4″ birch ply and 1/2″ finnish ply. I am at the end of my rope here. I guess that is what happens when you live in the middle of nowhere though.
If you could give me a name and city I can search for a number.
Thanks,
Kal

In Portland, they have a number of hardwood suppliers and for Plywood, I go to Mr. Plywood in S.E. Portland - they have a nice supply at reasonable prices. Get a Portland phone book and give them a call and see if they have what you need.
Compton Lumber in Seattle
Try Crosscut hardwoods on the corner of 1st south & dakota in Seattle, its almost across the street from the above listed post Compton lumber, or if Everret is better for you try Martin lumber on the corner of Brodway & California
I haven't been to Compton, will have to check it out. I've shopped at Crosscut a number of times, it's good. Lots of different hardwoods and ply in stock. I also like the much smaller Hardwoods Supply in Redmond. Not as much stock, but very fun to shop there, and nice guys too.
Try Edensaw in Port Townsend. I think they're on the internet.
I frequently shop for hardwood at Architectural Woods, 1201 Puyallup Ave, Tacoma 98421 (253-383-5484. They sell wholesale and retail. They offer a good selection and good service. They also have a wide variety of sheet goods. They frequently have special discounts on limited products.
Tacoma Plywood (almost across the street from Architectural Woods) also has hardwood lumber and sheet goods at good prices and wide variety-wholesale and retail.
Hope this helps!
