Anyone know of where to get Lyptus in Mass? I purchased some awhile ago from a place now out of business and I really liked the wood and have planned a couple other projects for it.

Weyerhaeuser is the sole importer of Lyptus into the United States. I would call them and find out who nearest you they distribute to.

I've tried emailing them before but got no response. Maybe a phone call will work. I wish I had known the place I got it before was going out of business. I would have bought all their stock.
Thanks,
Bob Babcock
The Rockler stores in Peabody, MA, and Salem, NH, both carry lyptus. Their prices are higher than at real hardwood yards, but they are having a sale on wood until the end of March, 20% off, I think. Lyptus isn't listed in the online inventory at either Highland Hardwoods in Brentwood, NH, or Anderson-McQuaid in Somerville, but you could Google them for a phone number and see if they have it anyway.
Hi Stoneaxe,
Lyptus , especially sheet goods, has rather sporadic availability here on the Souther Oregon coast. Beautiful wood , though

Hello,
Sporadic would be good. I built a gate for my brother and would like to do the same for myself but I can't find the wood.
Lyptus isn't just beautiful, it's a great wood for a lot of reasons. The fact that it is grown sustainably within the rainforest is a plus. It's also very versatile. From blonde to reddish chocolate, harder than hickory or about like birch, machines and finishes great. It's even rot resistant. Lots to like.
