Hi Everyone,
I am doing a refurb of a beautiful old Union box from 1937.
So far so good. But I do have a question regarding wet sanding using a three part finish (BLO, mineral spirits, oil polyurethane).
I have put some veneer on the top and when I do a light dry sand the dust is filling in the border which I think works well to soften the transition (hide my mistakes).
My question is can I wet sand/sand slurry my usual three part finish to fill in the border holes? I know wet sanding is usually ok with an oil finish but would it be ok with the poly?
I would be apply the finish, wait a bit of time then wet sand with 220 or 400.
What does everyone suggest?
Thanks!

Your finish is mostly oils and solvents I can't see any problem with wet sanding the initial coat as long as it doesn't start drying while you are sanding.
Cheers!
