Hello all.
I’m making a table out of African mahogany. Am I asking for trouble by simply using PVA glue for all of the joinery (M&T, and gluing up the top)? I’ve never used anything else on any type of wood (pine, maple, cherry, birch) and I’ve never worked with mahogany either.
I would like to try other glues but they aren’t readily available in the stores I’ve gone to. All they have is PVA, contact cement, and epoxy. I believe hyde glue comes prepared but I’ve never seen it in a store.
Thank you for any response to this.

I've never had any problems with PVA and mahogany. It's not oily so adhesion is excellent. All the usual benefits and drawbacks to PVA apply.

I haven't found a wood I like working more than mahogany. Maybe if I'm a real good boy I'll get my hands on some Cuban.John O'Connell - JKO Handcrafted Woodworking
