   I recall seeing a bevel gauge project in one of the hobby mags and at best they were selling a package of materials. I don't think you will find a square kit.  It's going to be far cheaper to buy the square already made than the kit. It is possible to make your own from scratch but this would mean you already know basic metal working. You might benefit from the HomeShop Machinist magazine or look at http://www.lindsaybks.com/

   You will find tool making related posts on this site or go to http://www.woodcentral.com and read their handtool forum and serach the links for the kit tool companies.

   WOOD magazine has plans for a number of hand tools that they publish in the mag and there is usually a kit you can buy for the hardware or at the least, a list of sources.  You might also want to check out their site and ShopNotes magazine as well

   1 - measure the board twice, 2 - cut it once, 3 - measure the space where it is supposed to go        4 - get a new board and go back to step 1
