Making a Form for a curved front cabinet
I have a form for making a curved front veneered cabinet. The front is 25 in wide by 20 in high and 5/8 thick. The radius is 30.25 inch; only slightly curved. It consists of 2 pieces of 1/8 bendable plywood on the outside and a piece of 3/8 bendable in the middle.
I am wondering if I can use two pieces of 3/8 bendable side-by-side in the center. The center two pieces would be next to each other.

There is no reason I can think of not to do this, provided your ply will bend enough.
I suspect that the original maker had access to the favoured species in 1/8" thickness so preferred that. Ultimately the outcome will be the same.
It is quite hard to laminate things to an exact thickness, so being prepared to manage what is an almost inevitable small variation from the plans is wise.
I appreciate the response, thank you.
I just recently made a seat for a stool that required a bent lamination. I used 5 pieces of 1/8" bb plywood and hyde glue. It came out 5/8" thick and tight to the form. the seat measured about 11"x16". A lot easyer to bend 1/8" ply than 3/8" ply.
