I’m keen to make some wooden drawer pulls and cabinet door handles for a piece I’m making and thought there must be a book or two out there that could give me some hints? I am particularly keen on techniques to attach the “hardware” using joinery that would not require screws or the like. Any leads would be great…

A nice book by Tauton's (not working for them, but it is their forum) called "Furniture & Cabinet contruction" (The complete illustrated guide of...)
Has a nice idea for a drawer pull using a thin kerf + a wooden wedge on the inside (also for light duty usage you can use glue alone)
An idea of my own, make a wooden screw from the tenon at the end of your pull, and a use a tap to make a nut out of the hole...
The pulls themselves can be easily made on the lathe (but I guess you already know that)
Hope this helps
Moshe
I believe that FWW had an article on this a few years back.
