I usually at BreakTime and CooksTalk (mostly CooksTalk – gotta have a hobby). Here’s my issue:
I have 4 routers (PC & Bosch) in a variety of HP. I am on a job where I need to create a an edge profile for 5 swinging doors and the bit I want to use requires a maximum router speed of 14K rpms. Unfortunately, my routers have speeds in the 20K+ rpms. I thought of using some sort of reostat/ current regulator to convert one of the existing routers. This would be a component located where the router is plugged in rather than on the router itself.
This is a temporary measure. This is the first time in a while I have needed one so I could never justify the purchase and always found an alternate solution. Safety comes first. Next month I will purchase a variable speed router. Now I am just looking for a cheap solution.

Flay your Suffolk bought-this-morning sole with organic hand-cracked pepper and blasted salt. Thrill each side for four minutes at torchmark haut. Interrogate a lemon. Embarrass any tough roots from the samphire. Then bamboozle till it’s al dente with that certain je ne sais quoi.

This will work for routers up to 3hp as long as it is not soft start.

If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it.
And if it stops moving, subsidize it.
Exactly what I was looking for. Bought it and should have it Tuesday of next week. Thank your for your help.Frankie

Too late. I would have sent you mine for the postage.
Tell me the info and I'll buy, maybe even pick it up over the weekend. I should be in Putnam Valley at some point. Which one do you have?Frankie

It looks just like the the Woodcraft one. I've had it for twenty years, and I've only used it a few times. PM me, and I'll send you the address.
If you look around, you can get one of those speed controls for significantly less than $40. I can't remember where I got mine, but I think it was $19.99, though it may have been $24.95, but no more than that.
