I thought someone might benefit from this.
Just got back from Costco (large membership warehouse chain) and they have Makita 12″ sliding (compound bevel) miter saws there for $499. I Was looking at the 10″ until I saw that price. Can’t wait to use it.

Costco where. I was there last week and all I seen last week was the Delta 8 1/2" chop saw.

This Costco is in Shelby Township, Michigan.
It seems they carry different items at different stores. In addition, some items appear to be one-time purchases, once they are gone, there gone. that happened last month with a retractable air hose reel.
Good luck

Costco, buys in large quantities and stocks their stores based on distances from points of purchase. For instance, if they are able to buy out a manufacturers stock of a discontinued item and the warehouse where they are stored is in Califronia, then they will likely only distribute to the 11 Western States. Beyond that the distribution costs would negate any savings they could pass onto the consumers.
However, the one here in Santa Rosa, CA has a special order kiosk where you can buy from a different warehouse. The catch is that you have to pay the shipping.
Their website lists products that are unique to costco.com so it in itself is an online warehouse and doesn't have many of the products you would find in their different stores.Steve - in Northern California
