   Saw two in Makita packaging at the big orange box yesterday...about $30-32 or so as I recall...but my recall is not as good as it used to be! ha!

   ikor memory was right on track.  Available at Home Despot.  With tax the one a bought was right in $30 - $32 range.

   RonT gave a good suggestion over @ BT to not bottom out the bits in the chuck.  They tend to want to do a 'til death do we part' thing with the chuck.

   Yea ya got that right. But if you put the shank in just enought to hold the bit ( I usually go only about 1/4-1/2" or so then it works great. Ya got to be care using hex head drill because of the impacting of the gun my break it. The jacobs chuck has a spring device which absorbs the impacting motion of the gun..kinda cool

   Know of anyone online selling this Jacob's chuck for the Makita impact, would like to see  a picture of it before buying, doing my best to stay away from Home Depot and only go to the local hardware store/lumber yards.

   Imada makes several , but they are pricey little buggers ($100+) and I have no idea if any will fit the Makita.

   Not really maybe the mak company site will have it let me check and I'll get back to ya. I got  mine from a bud whose a mak rep. He's also thhe guy who got the bit unstuck for me it took a 24V at a service center to do it.

   couldnt find it. Ill call my mak tool rep buddy ans see whats up but it will have to wait til monday
