I have the Makita 3-1/4hp router, 3612c, and I was wandering if it accepts “standard” template bushings?? I thought I remember seeing somewhere that it DID NOT accept what is considered standard bushings. Is the Porter-Cable bushing style the standard?
I may stop on the way home from work to pick a set up or I would look at the manual to see if it says whether or not the bushing style needed is different or not.

My old 1 1/2 hp makita came with a template adapter to accept pc template guides. Art
I have a Makita M12V (?) 3.5 HP router. I bought a "standard bushing" set from Harbor Freight that included an adapter that is the same size as the factory piece. I think the bushings are standard PC size. I haven't actually used it yet, but I could not see any reason it wouldn't work. The brass adapter is threaded on the inside for the bushings and the outside edge had a lip that fits the recess in the standard base and is held by two screws.
Hope this helps. My recollection is they were on sale for $10 (vs. the "normal" $20).
[And, FWIW, HF does list my router in the "it fits..." list.]
