Makitia jointer 2030 setup help
Hi I resently got a makitia 2030 jointer/planner what looks to be in mint condition. Rollers had just been redone and new belt and was only used once since. The blades had a couple Knicks on them in the planner and jointer so I got them all sharpened. I installed them in the jointer and followed the instructions in the manual to a tee. I used the levelling blocks that came with it. Ever since putting the blades back in I’m getting a tapper. You can hear the board cutting good until you get close to the end it seems to stop cutting. It never seem to do this before I took the blades out. I’m applying slight pressure to the board on the outfeed table. I put a level across the 2 tables and have the Infeed table set to 0 and I don’t see any gap. There is no adjustment for the out feed table. Does anyone have any advise on this? I searched google and watched lots about setting up jointers but most of those jointers have and outfeed table adjustment
any help would be great. I tried taking the blades out and setting them up again but still getting the same problem.
If one jointer blade is a paper width lower than the other would that give a taper?
thanks

Kombucha,
Difference in blade height would not cause that, but a very, very slight difference in cutting circle relative to the outfeed table would. Your highest blade is still too low. Could dust have built up under the table plate? That would do it. A dial indicator to reset the knives, yet again, can be very affordable these days, ten bucks or so, but you will still need a surface gauge or some such heavy, flat mounting for one, as well. If you err on the side of too high, you will have to live with a snipe and a belly. Or, shim your knife setting blocks, if they gauge from the cutterhead.
You might notice that that tapered edge is hollow enough for a fine spring joint, if that matters to you. Sometimes I have used that technique for a quick hollow shoot instead of adjusting table droop.
