I am unhappy with most of the plastic boxes supplied with power tools. Most of them waste a lot of space with blockouts that pre3vent me from carrying accessories, ect. For example, I recently buopght a milwaukey 12 volt cordless drill with plastic case and threww it away for a smaller metal box with no blockouts and more4 interior space. I bought a bosch 12 volt impact driver that came with a plastic box without wasted blocked out space that was part of the reason I chose the bosch. I got a porter cable fraiming nail gun that has a huge plastic case that I am very unhappy with because it is huge(my brother uses a cloth bag for his that comes from Senco, but I have not been able to find a simular one at the local tool sellers. What’s with these tool makers that they make these lousy boxes for their tools?

MONEY! Saves on packing materials?
I agree with you.. But we live in modern times.. Wondering if it is as good as they say?

My main dissatisfaction with the manufacturers tool boxes is the wasted space created by blockouts in the plastic ones and the resulting unnecessary large size of the boxes that leave no room for accesorries. It would cost less to make boxes without the blocked out spaces.
If you can, cut out the spacers (though I'm not sure the best tool to do that with).

With my milwauky cordless box I tried cutting out the blockouts, but where that layer contacted the outside layer, it was welded. I would simply like to have boxes without wasted space. Also, , my porter cable framing nailor box is simply unessesarilly huge. I just think the tool manufacturers are not thinking when they design these boxes, with the exception of bosch for my impact driver- that is a good compact box with no wasted space

I would paint it ORANGE so ya can see the guy walking' off with it at the Job sight!
