Just bought 5 sheets of plywood at the hd today..30.00 a sheet. It is beautiful! It is labeled “birch up /maple down”. Am I gonna have any problems with a natural finish. I know a couple of cabinet makers who use maple for their face frames on birch cabs. Will they finish about the same color..or did I make a boo-boo.

Wipe an area on either side with naptha. That'll give you an idea what it'll look like.
Nitro lacquer gives maple ply a nice honey color. Birch comes out a little more yellow. Both of the solid wood species will come out lighter than the ply.
It also depends on the type of maple you use. Good hard maple will be much lighter in color than the birch but soft maple is often closer in color to birch.
Probably stating the obvious here, but plywood of any type finishes way different than the corresponding solid wood.
