Has anyone heard of or used a Marples doweling jig?
I’m in need of a doweling jig and ran across one of the Marples brand on eBay, but can’t seem to find any information about it. (I’m starting to wonder if that’s a bad sign!)
thanks.taylor

Taylor,
I have one and still use it occasionally. It's easy to use and works well. Mostly though I now use biscuits with a biscuit cutter that works much faster for the applications for which I previously used the doweling jig.

Taylor,
Marples is a brand that was taken over by Record in the 50's, Record still use the trademark at times.
The Marples dowelling jig works fine, but a bit big for my liking (I own one). I tend to use a smaller Stanley dowelling jig unless I'm putting in multiple dowels, closely spaced together, in which case, the Marples is worth the effort.
Cheers,
eddie
