Does anyone try to use thin veneer(1/40 in) for marquetery? and if they do, what is the technique and what is the angle for the saw blade? It seems that most use material that is about 4/64.

I'm not an expert at marquetry (I just finished my first marquetry project a few weeks ago), and we don't currently have an expert in the forums available to answer your question, but I can tell you that the thinner veneers are more suitable for marquetry work than 1/16 in. thick veneers.
I just read an article by Silas Kopf (link below), one of the best known marquetry woodworkers. He says he uses 1/28-in. thick veneers.
Not all marquetry requires a beveled cut, but it will give a better seam than square cut veneer and when the two bevels join the bevels fill in the void left by the cutting kerf. A bevel of 13 degrees or 14 degrees is the standard.
