Looking for advice on material for a sewing machine table. The color will be white or an off-white. Melamine is a possibility but I was hoping to find something a bit more upscale. We recently had a closet company install cabinets that I believe were TFL – thermally fused laminate (but I’m not sure of that). They have a very durable surface and the edges are nicely smooth which would be ideal for a sewing table. Is there a source for TFL panels that would be edge finished that I could use for the top surface? Maybe there is another material?
Thanks – Terry

Corian or other brands solid surface material. Durable, readily worked with woodworking tools (cutting, decorative edges, sanding/buffing), comes in many colors, repairable.
Thanks - that would work, I've used corian for other projects. This project has a hinged out feed table and I think corian would be too heavy.
A completely different thought, how about using oak and then finishing it with one of those colored oil wax things. I think Burbon Month has made things out of oak and finished with the white version of Rubio monocoat. Just a thought if you like wood but want it more white in nature.
An interesting possibility - thanks
