I’m try to build Mat’s monster work bench. His videos left out how to attach the top to the base. How does one do this?

Glad to hear that you're tackling the bench. Good luck with your project.
About the base... Matt actually doesn't have anything holding it in place right now--the top is so heavy it doesn't need anything holding it in place.
However, you can add some cleats: two cleats attached to underside of the top. Put one just to the inside of each of the top members on the trestles. They should be snug up against those cross members.
