I just finished scanning the 100+ posts complaining about Laguna’s customer service or lack thereof. Wow! Now can anyone tell me why they like McMaster so much. I have tried for years to get a catalog. I keep being told: 1.) All issue have been given out. 2.) Only our good customers get copies 3.) Wait until the new issue comes out and ask for one 4.) Use the web site.
Number 4 tickles me. Can you see a computer/internet connection available to the average semiskilled worker in a dusty location around running machinery trying to figure out how to use the computer/website/etc.!! At how much per hour?
Needless to say, I refuse to buy from them and suggest others refuse also. Their customer service is as awful as Laguna’s customer service.
There are too many other good companies that sell the same things with much better customer appreciation.

I buy a lot from Mcmaster. They have the best customer service I ever encountered! You must buy from them to get a catalog. They do not advertise. The web catalog is the best you will ever find. They have been in business for over 100 years. I spend thousands a dollars a year and they are strict on giving only one catalog per customer a year to customers. I can't say a bad thing about them overall. Buy from them and you will get a catalog. Their tech service can't be beat, bar none!!!!
I used to buy but never got their catalog. Always told to use their on line catalog!
Now I won't buy from them. Maybe I should spend a few dollars and see if I get a catalog!!

I have been a faithful and happy McMaster customer for years. Never a problem. As to the catalog, I expect McMaster pays a hefty price to have them printed. Hence, the catalogs go only to regular or commercial customers.
See earlier posts. Some say you only have to buy. Others say you have to buy a LOT and be a commercial customer. Who knows!

It doesn't take much skill to buy online from McMaster. For a company that has been around 100 years and doesn't advertise how much better can a company get. I've known folks who have gotten catalogs before buying from them. They print up just so many at the end of the year to distribute in January. Their customer service is impeccable. I can return items no questions asked. I recommend buying from McMaster to many work associates.
In 20 years of buying from them you are the only one I've ever heard complain and I don't think you have ever bought from them. I buy thousands of dollars from them and can only get one catalog for my company each year. The old ones are still good and certain items that are discontinued can still be ordered from them. No other company can match their service and I have a 8' wide wall of catalogs from various suppliers behind me I use regularly.

If you think I am the only one to complain, do a advanced search and you will find others who also complain.

I think McMaster-Carr has excellent customer service and it is a well know fact that catalogs are not sent to everybody. Their on-line catalog is excellent and much better than Grainger's.

A factory worker should not be trying to order parts on-line, that's what purchasing is for. BTW purchasing will probably have a McMaster-Carr catalog. Are you saying that the average semi-skilled worker is not computer literate if it is their job to order parts?

So, so lucky am I - I have a McMaster catalog (OK, so it's not new, and it's second, maybe third hand.) Order today, have tomorrow.
Only complaint I've ever had is an item I had ordered (and received) somehow never got taken off my "I want" list. The next time I ordered something from them I got another of these things. I should check to see if I got a credit for it, not to mention shipping it back.
Oh, and I seldom use the catalog, their website is much handier.
Did I say the workers were ordering? They can look through and tell purchasing what needs to be procured!
