If the can's still full, it's probably OK. Methylene chloride is very volatile and is a very small molecule, so it can easily evaporate from a "sealed" can, leaving the heavier and less powerful solvents behind.

One way to know is to try it out. Sadly, I think MeCl will last forever. Though I used to work with a guy that was using "bugs" (bacteria) that ate MeCl (and other nasty Volitile organic compounds, VOCs).
The plot of MeCl amount vs time was quite interesting. (the bugs turned it into water and alcohol)

Measure it with a micrometer, mark it with chalk, cut it with an ax.
Thanks for the help. I'll try a small spot under the top and see what happens. I didn't want to open the can if it had already turned into some type of bio-hazard! lol1 Thes 4:11.....mind your own affairs, and work with your own hands......
