I’m not a beginner but one of you or more has to have a “better way”.
I have been building a wine cabinet that has a cove molding around the top. I have the cabinet square and looks great. Then I attacked the molding. Its the simple things that drive me wild but Id love to see some discussion of the issue of how do others deal with the following:
1)Imagine the front of the cabinet…a 45 on each end. How do you work down to the correct length? I start long and try to sneak up but invariably either i over do or the 45 is just not quite right when the length is…
2) Cutting the 45’s…Whats the best method…on the table saw or on a chop saw?
Any thoughts, ideas, jigs, etc?

For me, a sled on a TS. And, you might use PSA 220 grit sandpaper over the stops so that the stock does not slide on you during the cut.
