Is there another curved moulder besides the williams and hussey that can do what the mikron can do without all the knife marks? I have tried everything and can’t get the finished surface my clients (and myself) need.

Big difference in price between W&H and the others. Mereen Johnson makes an arch moulder but it starts at $25,000. The USConcepts is the best. I suppose cost is a factor. Have you considered slowing the feed of the W&H to reduce the amount of knife marks?
I saw the us concepts machine at the ct. wood workers show. It did look nice. I have 2 williams and hussey's and love them but they can't do what the mikron can do. The finish is so bad though regardless of the feed rate! Can the us concepts machine do what the mikron can do?
I'm still looking into them myself. We have some 10" wide curved window mouldings to produce but it's a small amount so it's hard to justify the expense unless there is more coming down the road. I wish I had gone to the Hartford show but I was busy. The US Concepts sure looks good on paper and they seem to have a good instinct for innovative ideas.
Have you tried using one of the freshly-honed blades like a scratch stock to remove the knife marks?

Whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right.
I sold my W&H due to the fast feed rate and less than perfect finish. I could have slowed to feed but got fed up. Schmidt Co. makes an adjustable feed conversion for the W&H. Think they use a DC motor and control. The design of the W&H hasn't changed in 50 years.
I read about problems with loose wobbly spindes on the tilting Mikron.

I knew I wasn't the only one with wobbly spindles. I had the company send me numerous spindles . The came down to check it out and even sent me a new machine which was better but still not good enough. The w.h. is better!
I've used both the W&H and the Mikron.
We sold the W&H, was not even close in performance, and it couldn't do a fraction that the mikron could.
Never had any problems with the spindle on the Mikron.

you lucky guy! I love what the mikron can do. They traded our 1 year old machine for the new one that can mount a router in the head. This makes the machine even more versitile. I still cant match the finish I get with the hussey. When I can I even do the first cut (if its deep) with the mikron then final pass on the hussey.
Not so lucky any more.
I moved to TX and we don't have any of the fancy machines at the place I work at now!
I loved that Mikron, I thought the finish was excellent. Maybe we just got the one good machine! Don't mater now though because I don't have either.
