I like mine. Have it in a table. Very sturdy and smooth running machine with plenty of power if you want to swing a big bit.
The Milwaukee 5625 is the best router for table use. The micrometer height adjustment operates either under the table or above the table so you don't need one of those expensive router lifts. The soft start motor is wonderful and very smooth. Releasing the motor to change bits is so easy. I had used Makita and Hitachi 3 hp plunge routers for years in a table with a router plate. The Milwaukee blows them away, so much easier to use and adjust. See http://www.patwarner.com for a complete review of routers for table use and the best advice anywhere on building a router table. I had used a Woodsmith type router table, top and insert for 20 years and was getting inconsistent results. After reading Pat Warner's site, I found my 1.5" MDF top with plate had sagged in the middle, no wonder I was getting such poor results. Pat describes how to make a router table top of 3/4" MDF with the proper supports to totally eliminate the sag. I also made his micro adjustable fence. It is a dream to use and a fraction of the cost of those expensive tops that will eventually sag.
Thanks folks...I just ordered a re-built from Amazon. Another site had a comment about the body slipping after awhile, but Milwaukee had a fix and I figured that a re-built would incorporate the fix (whatever it is!)
I've sent emails to the big 5 makers asking about a table-only (thru-the-bottom adj, no handles, labels upside down, etc.) and all said there was no market for such. What do they know, that a million wrouter wackers don't?

I've had the big Milwaukee in a table for almost three years now and think it's fantastic.Alan & Lynette Mikkelsen, Mountain View Farm, est. 1934, Gardens & Fine Woodworking, St. Ignatius, MT
The 'beast' arrived yesterday. I'd hate to have to hold this thing if it didn't have soft start! I believe it could break my wrist. Anyway, it's going under a table and my next fear is that someday soft start breaks down and the table flys around the shop!

One more Q: I dropped a bit into the collet and it fell a long way! Deep! So I set it so the flute cleared the collet. Motor all the way down and the bit is still proud of the table. I did remove the sub base so that the screws would reach. Also, the router will adjust to 1 7/8" travel down, then it falls to the stops. Does this sound right?
Anybody?
No, no one stocks this model locally.
Thanks,
Joe
Joe,
Love my big 5625...
Lives in the router table, has never balked or given me any trouble.
My first Milwaukee product, and very impressive.
The micro-adjust from above or below the table is a great feature that I am guessing will start showing up on other brands soon. Completely eliminates the need for a lift or other mounting system.
I highly recommend the 3.5 HP red beast for anyone looking for a powerful table-mounted machine.
